Looking to go meet a guy to purchase this polisher.

Is this the G9 polisher. I noticed that all the images of the g9 box online, say g9 on the front but this one doesn't. At the same time, the polisher on the front of this box looks like a g9 and not the older 6" Griots polisher.

It's probably the early G9's that was still called a 6" RO. If the polisher looks like the picture on the box, it's a G9.

When you go to look at the tool, take a look at the ID label on the tool. Both of my Griot's polishers have the model name/tool type on the first line of the label.

i found a local authorized Griot's retailer near me

they had 1 pad, a couple bottles of product, and one of these in a small nook on a shelf

I didn't pull it out of the box, but I was suspicious as to whether it was Griot's latest greatest...i proceeded with caution and bought the sure thing here instead

btw, the G9 is a baller little tool, I actually feel it was easier to manage and use than the G8

that's a kit sold at retail stores (autozone, etc.) if it's the same polisher pictured on the box, it's the latest and greatest and you're good to go..

Ahh, I see the word Kit and a pad and some polish.
