Getting chewing gum out of seats

Fellow AG'ers, I need your help. I have an 06 Mazda 3 that I'm doing on Sunday that has a quarter sized piece of gum stuck in the fabric of the seat. The owner put their gym shoes on the seat and must've stepped in gum somewhere along the line. What would be the best way/product to get it out? I've never encountered gum on a seat, and not sure how to tackle it.

Try putting ice on it. It may lift up slowly for you. I've done this and it works!

oooh good question, I had one like this and majority of the gum came off but not completely all gone...I used Meg's APC almost full strength (I say almost because I can't remember the ratio and the bottle had more then half of Meg's APC) worked okay but if there is anything better please let us know.

I'll try the ice method to remove most of it, then go at it with some APC to get any remaining gum and the stain out. I'll be sure to report back.

if the gum is fresh as shown in the Video WD-40 will do the samething withought the odor Goof Off leaves behind

an old trick to remove gum was freeze it...I use a compressed air can like you buy to blow out computers and other things..tip it upside down the liguid will freeze the gum....and pick off what you can..then use WD 40 to get the rest off...but you will have to wash it after....you may even get the whole thing up with the freeze....work perfect for me.....do not spray it on your skin..you will get a frost burn...its very cold....

Well, got the gum out of the seat no problem. It was really mashed into the nap of the seat, so I took an ice cube and got as much of it up as I could. Then I hit it with some Folex full strength, let it sit for a couple minutes and scrubbed with an upholstry brush. Came right out! I'll post pics of the complete detail in the Show N' Shine section.
