GG6 backling plate and pad size??

do I get a 5" backing plate and use 5" pads or 5.5"?

if you get a 5" backing plate you can use 5.5" pads or any other pad that has at least 5 inches of hook & loop aka velcro...

5" Meguiars backing plate with the thin Meguiars maroon cutting and yellow polishing discs do great for me.... although I've been wanting to venture into the MF pad world lately

I'm using a gg6 . Locally available are lake 5.5" original pads. Boss 5.5 and lake 5" hybrid ..???which should I get

I 'll get a different backing plate .... Boss only comes in packs of 2 . I don't do that much detailing ....??

you can never have enough pads (and mf towels), the more the better...

Packs of 2 meaning doubles of the same pad .

one pack means 2 pads (though i heard they are selling them individually but not on AG just yet). IMO you should have at a minimum of at least 4 pads for correction. try not to overthink things...

so I'm getting black... from the yellow orange and white can I skip one of these?

If just applying wax/sealant, you can use one pad for a vehicle. For compounding and polishing, I'd suggest a minimum of 4-6 pads per vehicle.

the lake pads are nearly half the price of the boss pads. I,m only gonnna be doing a few cars a year is that really worth paying the extra cost

you can't go wrong with either the lake country thinpro or BOSS pads. both are high quality...

I just have the regular float foam of lake available locally?!are the thin pro that much better?
