Hi all,
Have two cars with the same problem. Lexus UX250h/300h. The glass has by process of elimination an adhesive, and it's stubborn to remove. It is consistently vertical to the glass. The cars are shipped by sea and may have a protective film fitted on the glass, with the customer taken delivery, the dealer peels off the film and visibly you can't see anything, unless the glass is cleaned with a liquid. During washing, the film appears, but can dry off, so the window is optically transparent, well for normal driving anyway.
What has worked and it's a multi stage process which I want to reduce to maybe 2 chemicals, a remover and standard cleaner.
- Isopropyl (98%+)
- Acetone
- Isopropyl again
- Autoglym Glass Polish
- Meguiar's Glass Cleaner or Autoglym fast glass
Also tried: Turpentine, Orange Power goo remover.
Last night tried a citrus based degreaser, just laughed at it. I have ordered the 3M™ General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, 08984 but it doesn't fly being highly flammable and is sent by sea container..... Am I on the right path or is it something different on the glass?
