glass polishing, will m205/105 do it?

i did a test spot on a small portion of glass, and it seemed like the 205 took out the water spots with enough working, anyone ever get rid of waterspots or maybe minor minor scratches with compound? or does this require an actual glass polishing kit like the glass pads from LC?
 
Type I water spots can be removed using a glass polish or even an abrasive product that wont' scratch glass.

Removing scratches and scuffs out of glass requires an abrasive specifically for working on glass and even then the scratches can't be very deep.

You don't need the Glass Polishing Pad. You could use an orange or white Lake Country CCS buffing pad but you should really use a polish that will work on glass. I don't know if M105 or M205 will work, but the Poorboy's World Super Swirl Removers work on glass and plastic just fine.

Klasse AIO and Optimum Poli-Seal also work on glass.
 
The M105 and M205 use microscopic size non-diminishing abrasives, they will work but if you're trying to remove any kind of film on the glass, like built up water spots, (mineral deposits), what works best is an abrasive that's large in size, not small in size, but it's can't scratch glass.

I lived in Oregon most of my life and water spot on glass and paint are a regular problem. Here's the deal, you can't buff out a customer's car and make the paint all shiny and then return to them a car with shiny paint but with water spots all over the glass, so suffice to say, I've had a lot of experience buffing on glass as discussed in the thread.

The topic of chunk abrasives is discussed for sure because so many people in that thread kept asking about other products and they just never picked up on what's needed is something kind of chunky.

Try now,

The blue clickable link at the top of the thread is coded wrong, I fixed the link on our forum but they'll have to edit and fix the link on their forum.

One thing I do when I use a thread often is I type in the title to the thread in the first message and then make it a clickable blue link. Then if I or anyone else wants to share the link to that thread all they have to do is highlight, copy and paste the clickable title.

Thanks Mr. Haributo and Mike. I have a friend who's truck windows are looking a lot like what was in your write up Mr. Haributo. I told him we would be able to get them out, just needed to read up some on the forums. Thanks again guys.
