What's up with these having very similar prices but Optimum and Cquartz come with one vehicles worth of product, while DP and Diamond claim one bottle of their stuff will coat 10-15 vehicles? Three of these claim 2 year durability and Pinnacle claims 3 year durability... They all claim to have the same characteristics when it comes to self cleaning, hydrophobic properties, ect.

So they are very similarly priced, very similar in terms of durability, and very similar in terms of all the benefits they claim their coatings provide. Yet, two products can get 10 to 15 times the amount of use out of one bottle for the same price.

I think it's obvious I'm having a hard time choosing what coating I want to use... Is there something about the CQuartz and Optimum coatings that make them so much better that it justifies paying the same money for one coating as I'd pay for 10-15 coatings of Pinnacle or DP? Because on paper, they seem to be essentially the same in terms of the results they produce.

You'll never get 10 - 15 coats out of a bottle of DPPC or PBLC. I'm going to say more like 3 - 5(tops) if you truly make sure you are careful to coat every portion of paint working the product in well. I have used the DP paint coating and I love it, and will be using it for a long time until DP or PBL offer a different coating. Having said that you will never get 2 yrs. unless you are using it on a garaged hobby car or show car. The G-C/CQ will have better durability, but are a more difficult application.
I do love coatings so keep digging and decide what's best for you. I highly recommend the Palm Beach MG offerings! I found application to be what I'm looking for, and I feel that I'm going to get the best protection for a full year and survive our terrible winters and have my paint in great condition when I'm ready to reapply.

I've had the PBL surface coating on for about 14 months now. At least, 14 months on the paint.

I'm looking to give gloss coat a try. Looking for something different and better.

How has it been performing for 14 months?

On the paint? Still there, unless it's the PBL coating booster. Came off the wheels at around six months, and the windshield at about 9 months. Haven't had a lapse in beading or sheeting since I put the PBL on at the new year 2014.

I used the booster on the paint about 4 months in, as it didn't feel slick like when it was new. I was told that's what to do to get the slick feeling back. Never bothered with the booster on the glass or wheels, didn't really care if they were slick like the paint.

The booster streaked like nothing I've ever used. At the time, I thought it could have been the temps as it was around 56℉ that day and rained the day before.

Tried the booster again just 2 weeks ago. 77℉ and about 45% humidity. Exact same unbelievable streaking.

Oddly, on the bottle of booster, the nozzle got clogged with tough resin like substance that was a transparent dark orange. This happened twice. That never actually happened to the bottle of the surface coating, and I've gone back to that bottle several times to retouch the coating up after I fixed a few rock chips.

The coating failure on the wheels was the most disappointing, as I prepped those the best, at least I thought. The wheels got washed, tarminator, iron x, clayed, ipa wiped, and then I worked in the surface cleansing polish on an LC white pad and removed, before coating. I didn't use tarminator or the ipa on the paint and glass.

Gloss-coat sounds like the winner. I like the look of PBL and DP a lot but durability is important and I'd like to be able to get the full 2 years (or 3 years according to PBLs claim) out of whatever product I use with proper maintenance.

CQuartz UK has performed very, very well for me on the vehicles that I have installed it on. Very good gloss (even after 6+ months), great dirt repelling capabilities (bugs come off with garden hose) and decent resistance against light marring.

My only complaint with UK is the need to use a lot of applicator suedes and towels - which should ideally be discarded after each use.

I just tried Optimum Gloss-Coat, and found it to be equally easy to apply. If you do 2 coats (2nd coat after an hour), the surface becomes super-duper slick. The coating applicators and towels also do not turn hard. Since I just installed it, I can't speak for the other properties.
