I am going to LA this weekend to attend a friend's wedding. Since I live near San Jose, this is a rare opportunity for me to visit the Chemical Guys store. And what timing! I plan to detail my car the following weekend as well!!

I already have the usual detailing stuff (5.5" pads, hand applicators, PC XP with backing plates, Megs UC, Megs UP, Megs 105, Megs 205, cleaner wax, Collonite 845, Megs Quick Detailer, Megs Quik Wax, ONR v3, ...). I plan on picking up some spot polishing 4" pads. My detail plan is to wash with dawn, clay, compound with UC or 105, Polish with UP or 205, seal with #845, and then maintain it regularly by washing with ONR and Megs QD/QuikWax.. In fact, I have enough ONR, Sealants and wax to last me for atleast next 2 year!

Any suggestions on what I should pick up from CG?

Is your paint that bad off to start with 105?

105 is my "fall back" in case I find that UC does not do a good enough job. I did not want to find out on the day of detailing and then wait another week to get 105 to reach me (and I dont want to buy 32oz bottles from walmart.. its too much compound that I will not need for the foreseeable future) :-)

Also, there are atleast 2 deep scratches that might require some sanding, and 105 seems much better at removing sanding marks than UC.. so I needed one anyway.

Blacklight looks interesting.. I don't have a glaze anyway, so will be good to get.. should I put it on top of #845?

I have a lot of liquid spray wax/sealant (2 bottles Megs Quik Wax, 1 bottle of muc-off spray wax).. V7 is good, but I know I won't need it before I run out of these 3 bottles.

nevermind... it seems like that replaces UP/M205, but has no abrasive properties. Since I plan to to UC anyway, glaze seems like be a good option to go with.

i see you saw my chemical guys thread. Blacklight is real good along with the V7 oh cant forget the stripper scent. Try to go on sunday for some reason i always get better deals on sundays the girl cashiers always tend to give me better deals

pick me up a gallon of the honeydew snow foam please! :props:

You can use any shampoo with a foam cannon. I just did a quick search on the Maxi Suds ii on youtube and I'm seeing some really thick foaming action there. I'm not too familiar with CG products but would definitely like to get my hands on some of that Maxi Suds ii as I'm running out of the DP Extreme Foam. I hate the smell of the DP Extreme Foam.

I don't think that one strips LSPs...I think its just the Citrus Wash Red that strips LSPs.

I think it does 1oz per each gallon of water to strip. got the info from CG website

I see where it says "ultimate surface prep paintwork cleanser" but does that actually mean it strips LSPs? I'm asking because I'm interested in an LSP stripper and was eyeing the Citrus Wash Red. You would think if it had a "gloss' enhancer it wouldn't strip LSPs...atleast thats what I would think.
