Goo Gone In Engine Bay?

Just wondering if using Goo-Gone in an engine is dangerous...Story behind this question is that a friend of mine at a detailing company told me that he was told to use Goo-Gone in the engine bay on parts where there was difficult Engine Grease/Tar caked on...

Any thoughts on this?

never heard of that one! i WOULD NOT try it. too many safe choices for engine cleaning. a good APC/engine gunk etc....

The warning on the back of Goo Gone says to keep away from heat, sparks and flames. With the heat of an engine compartment, I wouldn't use it.
