I run an ad often but i dont feel like im seeing a return on it. What do yours say so i can get some ideas?

Due to a car show that was coming up my last one read:
High End Auto Detailing
Swirl Removal-Show Car Prep
Proudly Serving Northern NV

Any advice on google adwords is appreciated.

You're asking such a broad question:
- Your copy needs to be great
- Add a bunch of negative keywords so you won't come up for 'auto detailing supplies' and the like
- geo-targeting to zipcodes
- landing page for specific keyword your targeting
- sales copy should be great
- split test ads
- check everyday how you're doing
- do not combine keywords such as 'car detailing' and 'auto detailing'
- targeting keywords should be as relevant as possible to the copy
- target long-tail keywords
- link up Google Analytics for more insights

I do get some calls off of it but I only use it to help my SEO

Adwords doesn't really help for organic search rankings

SEO is all about on/off page optimization and link building

Adwords is search engine marketing (sem)/pay-per-click (ppc)

Test ads are the key. Play around with the ad text and search words, think of it like a spread sheet. Keep your budget low until you start seeing results. Monitor daily but don't change the test ads until you've given them at least two weeks for results. Just remember the result is someone clicking on the ad. If you're getting clicks but no calls then there is a problem with your website.
