Hello there,

You may call me Brent if you so choose. I hail from Ohio, and bit south of Cleveland.

I just purchased one of the 7424 kits w/5 pads along with the Wolfgang Swirl Remover Combo.
Before I found this fine site, I had ordered a 2 bucket wash kit with a bunch of extra goodies somewhere else. So I have a decent amount of things coming my way along with my current small arsenal.

Anyways, my wife and I both recently traded in our old digs and got new cars (2012 Forester, 2012 GTI, respectively). Unfortunately, my new black car received some classic dealership swirls in it. I should probably create project thread for that later.

Sadly, prior to college, I probably did such a thing while working at a dealership myself. On the bright side, it was an experience I enjoyed and wish to get back to.

Incoming TMI?

Since moving to our current location, I've actually been out of work, but part of that was planned. We moved here in 2009 and at the time I was not doing so well with a chronic, debilitating disease. I started a much stronger course of medication at the end of that year, and things really turned around, but I had a few flare-ups when other meds were changed. Anyways, I've been in pretty good shape for about a full year now, and I just want to get back to work.

Prior to all this moving business, I worked in the IT field (my degree is there as well). That's the problem with choosing your career path at 18-19years of age, I just don't care to do it anymore. If I can't find a job with a detail shop or at least have the chance to be a helping hand and go from there, I might have to turn back to the IT field.
I've had an interview (they really needed someone with more experience from the get go) and have a few applications out there, but we'll see what happens.

So, that's me. A learning hobbyist that would like to make it a career. One way or another, I plan to keep at it since I enjoy doing it.

I greatly appreciate all the videos and how-to guides that you provide on this site. They're really top notch.

See you on the other side!

I guess I'll call you Brent, since its your name, welcome aboard!

Hang in there, sounds like you have a positive spirit and a can-do attitude!

Thanks, I appreciate the responses.
And this place is just foaming over with information. I keep finding myself planning to check something for a few minutes, then time is gobbled up for 45minutes reading questions/answers and other how-to's.

I can't lie on this one. I was diagnosed in 2007 with ulcerative colitis, and there was a lot of time between then and 2010 when it was just hard to have a good day (my outlook on things was pretty gloomy).
I couldn't really make plans because every day was just a roll of the dice. When my doctor finally exhausted all smaller treatments and moved me to an every 8 week schedule of remicade infusions at the hospital, it was like a life changing event. It's a pain the ass, but it's totally worth it.

:props:

Welcome Brent!

The more IT kinda guys on here the better I say.

That is, of course, if by IT you mean:

-IT...Iced Tea drinkers

(BTW: I'm the latter of these Identification Traits)

I took notice of what you did there.

Welcome fellow Ohioan. Where do you call home. I'm in Euclid.

I miss working on my car. Weekly washes and polishing a few panels each week.

Dang ankle injury is driving me nuts. I am able to drive again, but washing would just be too slow on crutches at this point in the year. I miss it so much.
