Griot's Garage 5 Inch Vented Backing Plate

I'm looking for a GG 5 Inch Vented Backing plate for the G9 I will be purchasing. AG offers two part numbers: GR-10555 and GR-10550.

In the description for GR-10555, it specifically states that this backing plate is for the G9 and G6's. This plate is out of stock with no available date.

In the description for GR-10550, it specifically states that this backing plate is for G6, G10, 7424xp, MT300 and any DA with a 5/16" x 24 thread. No mention of G9. This plate is in stock at AG.

I've checked the GG website and it only shows part number 10555. When I search 10550, it redirects to part 10555.

Can someone from AG confirm that GR-10550 is compatible with the G9 to use or if there is a reason I should wait for GR-10555 to be back in stock?

Samey Same.

The threads are the same. The Non-mention of the G9 is because the unit is new. (Hasn't been updated in description of the plate).

I use product number GR-10550 on my G6 and G9, no issues what so ever.

It’s not exactly the same plate. I asked Griot’s customer service when it came out, it’s a slightly softer material to help the pad conform to the car surface. I believe it’s also got revised venting to match up with the G9.
