Griots Garage Spray On Wax

For those who have not tried this, I got this as a bday present and it works very well as a aid in drying with no water spots. No streaking a few sprays a side and wipe down dry with no water spots.
 
OK stupid question, but those that use spray products as "drying aids" what exactly does this mean?

Do you towel down and then when there are just a few trace signs of left over moisture you spray wax and wipe? Or do you spray while you are doing the initial wipe - I can't see that working very well with a spray wax.
 
i have always used a spray wax with the drying process... no prior wipe down. helps maintain gloss as well as make the next wash easier.

I usually use QD as a "Drying aid". I guess it doesn't really aid in drying, but helps with a little less water spotting, helps the drying towel glide over the paint a little easier and amps up the shine during the drying process. I don't usually use a spray wax because I don't want that getting into my drying towels
 
I see, very familiar with flooding, so basically, spray wax in a "drying technique" is best used when the remaining water has been reduced to a flooding level?
 
When wet Spray and I use a Cobra waffle weave towel.
 
I have used a QD as a drying aid for years. It does help reduce streaking and water spots. I blow most of the water off with a leaf blower then mist down each panel as I wipe it dry with a WW towel. You can see the evaporation happening after you wipe where you see water streaking and slowly evaporating without the QD, which means you flip the towel and wipe again. For me, less wiping using a QD as I dry means less chance of adding scratches and swirls.
 
anyone else like GG Spray on Wax? thinking about getting some. at 14.99 for 70 oz, that comes out to $0.21 cents/oz, which is the one of the cheapest prices for any spray on wax.

I'm not sure all those waxes you mentioned are designed specifically for applying to a wet car after a wash. Griots definitely is though.
 
Even though the Griot's Spray-on Wax is designed to be used on a wet car, I prefer to use it like a regular spray wax on a dry car.

Blow dry the car with a leaf blower to remove 80-90% of the water. Then mist a panel with a detailer or spray wax, wipe dry with a waffle weave towel. The lubrication in the product helps prevent marring and the product helps boost the protection on the car.

+1 on the Griots, its my go to product for this. Leaves an amazing ( but short lived ) shine and never streaks for me.

i also went ahead and put my order in for the spray wax. added the xmt pad cleaner, daytona sm and sm jr kit, gg sprayer head, and chise pinnacle paintwork cleanser for my free sample.

You will not be disappointed. Make sure to use a MF towel with a good weight to it. The solution has a thick feel (definitely feels like a wax) and my thinner MF towels tend to bunch up with it.

I am hoping Santa will do the same for me, since its winter and it works well after a DG Rinseless wash and gloss or just taking the car to the quater wash for a spray down.
 
I do sometimes miss using a qd or spray wax drying aid now that I use the Master Blaster. Man that puppy put my qd supply out of business but I'm happy not to touch the car with a drying towel anymore.

DG Aquawax was my favorite drying aid wax and Optimum ID was my favorite drying aid detailer but FK 425 was great as well. I suppose now the occasional time I do this I prefer to reach for UWWP.

Video killed the radio star
Master Blaster and UWWP killed the QD for me.
