A little feedback for all purchasing buckets to use with Grit Guards. The Grit Guards do not fit in the Lowe's blue 5 gallon buckets. They only fit to the halfway mark. Maybe I am wrong but it's my understanding that they are supposed to sit on the bottom of the buckets.

I have better luck with the Menards buckets. The grit Guard fits snuggly on the bottom.

Ace Hardware buckets work for me. But I'm sure these places buy buckets from different suppliers and they are slightly different sizes. Easiest thing to do is go to Home Depot and bring your grit guard with you. If you go to the right aisle, they sell other buckets besides the orange Homer bucket.

Home Depot ones are perfect and they are like $2.

That's odd... I have two 5 gallon buckets from Lowes (one grey and one blue), and the Grit Gaurds fit perfectly in both. Snug at the bottom, just as they should be.

The grit guard doesn't fit in my blue Lowes bucket either. Only goes about half way down.

They DON'T fit in the Pep Boy's red buckets. They DO fit perfectly in KZ pickle buckets.

To be fair, they're loose on the buckets AGO provides too. I have a grey Lowe's and it fits snug about 2/3 down and I like it that way.

Probably depends on where in china the buckets are made. Taking grit guard with you was best suggestion above. I have Home Depot orange and white bought a couple years apart and grit guard fits both.

That's weird, really weird!
I have nothing BUT Lowes buckets and all mine have grit guards (that fit perfectly). :D

Did you get the ones that are plain with no Lowes logo on the outside or the ones with the logo? Reason I ask is all mine (that the grit guards fit) have the logo.

I use the silver for "clean" water and the blue for "dirty" water. Figure I can remember 'blue water' is dirtier than 'silver water'. :)

I just wish they had a BLACK bucket that I could use for wheel and fender well water. ;)

Mine are blue with the logo.

I have two buckets (silver) from Lowes and the grit guard does not fit mine.

Thanks Bob. Maybe AG should add this to their Grit Guard page.
