Hi ag peeps.Ive been reading a lot about this sponge lately. Some say that it works best with ONR.Is it really safe to use on your car? What is the difference between GS and regular car wash foam?TIA

FWIW - there's a ton of debate on autopia on the grout sponge. My take on it is - it's the best damn thing you can use to wash your car with. Go to home depot and get a 2 dollar grout sponge, 6 for $10 - make sure they're the "made in Greece" ones. Enjoy!

Have you tried the ones at lowes?I think the brand is proline around 1.90/pc.

Lowes has one also thats made by pro line..its very good...1.87...they rinse super clean..and hold a ton of wash solution....and gentle on the paint...

Thanks Al.How does it differ from a regular car sponge?TY

yes they are the best thing..they willllll not scratch your car!..they are awesome

hmm...very tempted to buy right now.hehe

It may be the foam composition..the grout one feels very soft and the car ones I have seen feel ruff and stiff....just guessing...but a observation...but there is a difference you can feel....

Thanks Al.Will give it a try soon

The Lowe's GS has larger pores and hold more solution it also feels softer than the Home Depot GS.

I've put the sponges in the wash with the other mf's and let them air dry. Works like a champ.

I rinse it out with the hose after I wash the car, sqeeze out the water and let air dry.

Exactly...just squeeze it under water a few times and then squeeze dry and let air dry....very simple...clean as a whistle....

The one you want to use is in the flooring dept, they have one with a scrub pad on back and the plane one also I work there we sell alot of them I bought a few today, they also carry a new product I use apc called the works, It is made by clorox eviro friendly made with natural ingredients, also a new product we carry is red max, degreaser, glass cleaner, apc to, I haven't tried them out yet.

I've always been curious about the grout sponge. I have read up on them each time I come around and I am scared to try them because I am afraid they will scratch. Some say they wont and some say they will. I would think they would as the dirt doesn't always have something to fall into the sponge while it is being dragged across the clear like with a sheepskin mitt.

I would like to see a grout sponge test one a perfectly polished black car to settle the score once and for all. Polish the car, get the car pretty dirty and then wash wth a sponge. Good pictures before and after.
