I've searched and don't find much about C1 application. All the videos I watch it is installed in optimum conditions. Has anyone applied this product in 85-95 degree temps? If so approximately how long do you have to get the residue off? I apply EXO in these temps with no problems. I work in small sections and remove any residue in about 20-30 seconds. In the videos I've seen them do a whole hood, talk for a little while then remove the residue. I autumn adding 20 degrees and 20-30% humidity is going to change this pretty dramatically???

Feed back please

+1 am curious as well. Would like to use C1 down the road, hopefully someone can chime in.

My advise would be to drop Gtechniq an email and ask. They're best placed to advise you on how it's likely to behave in those conditions

Yeah...I sent Kevin a message on here two days ago but haven't heard anything. I'll try their site maybe I'll have better luck thanks.

I have applied both to 4 cars. C1 is just like opti-coat and is applied the same way. EXO is a little difference you have to apply in a smaller area than C1. You have to wait 6-8 hours before you apply EXO over C1. If your planing on putting to costs of EXO you have to wait 20-30 mins between costs. I'm not a fan of EXO it has a chance to haze up and then you have to use a light polish to fix and this only happen on one car. One car was one car to many for me and I will never use EXO again. I will only use opti-coat pro or CQuartz Finest. Before I applied C1 or EXO I talked to Kevin Gtechniq.

But Exo is so beautiful. The gloss is amazing!!! I'd buy it by the drum if I could and put in on my toilets, showers, and door knobs.

I was not impressed by it at all really.

Well after a lot of searching I found that the surface temperature has to be between 5 and 30 degrees C or 41-86 degrees F. This was the best video I found for application.

Just wanted to let you know I did the C1 application last night. I waited until 10 PM to start, the temperature in the garage was 89 degrees which is actually a little higher than recommended. The application went smoothly. Had plenty of work time with the C1. I did 1/2 a panel at a time, quarter on the hood, the roof...well it's an MDX so 1/6th at time lol. The humidity was also about 60%. This morning at about 5:45 I started on the EXO. The EXO I worked in a little smaller sections, the temp was still about 86 the humidity about the same.
So C1 is very workable at the high end of the temp range. I waited about 7 hours before starting on the two coats of EXO. It's only been completed for about 6 hours but no sign of hazing so far. At this point I don't think I will get any. Looks beautiful!!!

Sounds great Dave.
Do you use the C1 and EXO on anything else of the vehicle besides paint?
Just curious if it's use is intended as such?
Mark
(PS, just noticed I'm at over 1100 posts here, I'm catching up Dave! )

I just did the paint. I could have done glass and wheels with C1, EXO will go over just about everything.

It's Pearl White so you can only expect so much lol

Is it me or I'm not seeing the pics?

This is exactly how I did my car last summer and plan to do it again in a few weeks. I got excellent life out of my C1/EXO v2, but the Chicago winter this year was very brutal and even with CarPro Reload and C1.5, I can see the side panels not beading as well.

I finished the C1 application in the late evening and did EXO v2 first thing in the morning. Temperatures were within the recommended range and EXO application was <12 hours before completion of C1.

There were a few things that I learned during this process.
1. I did the roof first, and I was too generous with C1. It took quite a while before it got buffed and there was a central high spot (streaking) and a few areas where I marred the paint because of excessive pressure when buffing. Basically I applied too much in too big of an area. I quickly adjusted for the rest of the car.
2. The time after C1 application depends on temp and humidity, but 3-12 hours is the window.
3. It takes time to do this application, and I think this is what will turn off many people with who are familiar with and like CQ, 22PLE and opti-coat.
4. The gloss and slickness is unbelievable on a dark car.

Planning to do this in a couple weeks after a 1 stage correction.
