I have read warnings on some ceramic products not to get on trim or any other surface that is not painted. Anyone have experience getting either of these on plastic trim? Are there any surfaces in particular that I should avoid? I noticed the CQuartz says it can be used on paint, wheels and metals.

They can be used on plastic trim. They aren’t designed for that substrate and they may not last as long as they do on paint.

I've used both CQUK 3.0 and Gyeon Pure EVO on trim with very good results. I will also add both applications were on new vehicles, so the trim was in excellent shape.

It may be totally baseless, but I'm apprehensive to apply a coating to an older car due to a few years of trim coatings/protectants and possible oxidation might interfere with the coating. I'm not confident I could get the surface as clean as it needs to be; mostly because some trim if fairly porous. I'll use a dedicated trim protectant in those cases.
