Hello!!! I think this is my first post on Autogeek or at least my first thread. I bought a black 2012 Mustang in September, and I have fell in love with detailing. Although i've had many problems since September when I bought it. (Hit a deer on Christmas Eve ($4000 of damage), a sign flew up in the middle of the road and scratched the side of my car, etc.) I finally have a chance aside from college, work, and a finish with no scratches to finally detail my car. I bought the Pinnacle Souveran/Klasse kit, and I plan on getting up super early Saturday morning to spend a day with my car :)

To the point now. I have somehow gotten long strings of gum down the side of my car :/ I was planning on just hitting it with the pressure washer then washing it. Do you guys have any tips? As long as the weather pans out on Saturday morning, I will be washing my car, claying, possibly washing again, using the Klasse, then waxing after a few hours. I figured the clay bar would get it off if the pressure washer/washing does.

Thanks ahead of time! :dblthumb2:

I think a bug and tar remover or WD-40 would be the best bet for taking that gum off.

claying seems to take care of many of my problems, for example there was some adhesive on my car, took it right off, with some elbow grease removed this overspray

So far i've gotten a tuner from American Muscle, Magnaflow axle backs, Airaid Cold Air intake, Saleen front end, Barton short throw shifter, and I believe that's it. I'm really wanting wheels, tires, and a lowering kit, but i'm runnin a little short on money. I'll try to post a picture up after while if I can figure out how.

Use a bug and tar remover or adhesive remover. Tarminator or 3M is what I use.

tuner doesnt void your warranty?
as for pictures just upload to photobucket then copy the img code

Can't forget about the old standby product range!!

OR:
You can freeze it for easier removal by using ice cubes, "canned-air", or a variety of different branded gum-freezers. Such as:

Just be careful around paintwork, though.
And, as a proof-positive allegorical example to carefulness...Keep in mind how icy/freezing conditions will affect:
The proverbial "copper/zinc-alloy monkey" that, for deducing purposes, also has a bodily-area consisting of quite sensitive brasswork.

Thanks a lot for the info everyone. I'll probably try the bug and tar remover in the morning. I've got some Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover.

I'm not sure about the warranty. I know you can set it back to stock. I don't know if Ford has a way to tell whether you have tampered with the tuning or not. I need to email American Muscle and see what they say.

I had chewing gum on my windows. Some punk thought it would be funny it stick it at the bottom of the window. I put the window down. When I brought it up after the drive there was a long stretched piece of gum stuck to the window.

Goof off, or goo gone(forget which) took it right off now problem. I made a thread about it awhile back if your want to see.

Wow that sucks. It's amazing how immature people are these days. I'm glad it came off easy. I've got some Goo Gone (?) that i'll try out to if the Bug and Tar remover doesn't work.
