For those that have tried this what do you think?

I have been trying to like it but something just doesn’t feel right? The smell (not a big deal) is off putting and it flashes really quick. It streaked on smooth plastics also. I really like Megs QD, but the Gyeon did have more cleaning ability. Overall I like the look and application of the Megs better though. It definitely feels more like a cleaner with less protection in it. The way it works and flashes, feels and behaves makes it seem very alcohol. I know they say it has alcohol in it.

What are everyone’s thoughts?

I think it is decent. I like the smell personally. To me it works very similar to Megs and like the Megs, it too is an alcohol-based formulation. My car never gets that dirty, so I'm never in need of something that cleans on a very high level. I like that the Gyeon flashes quickly and leaves an OEM look behind. It's very comparable to Megs Quik. Megs is the better value.

I am curious though how alcohol-based detailers are long term on plastics and other interior materials. Will they cause premature drying? If the chemistry is good i would think this is a non-issue as there are other ingredients in them. The Gyeon is 60% alcohol.

More recently I turned to rinseless wash (ONR/Griot's) at their normal dilution ratios for interior cleaning. Works exceptionally well.

Rinseless washes make for great interior detailers.

My car doesn’t get dirty enough either to really need a lot of cleaning power inside. I like the smell too but it reminds me of Eraser and then when it flashes quickly, I feel like I’m using a panel wipe inside and it’s off putting. I like an OEM finish as well.

The alcohol also worries me in terms of drying out plastics. Between the Megs and the Gyeon I do feel like I noticed a difference in terms of the interior looking more dry with the Gyeon.

Here In Aus the Gyeon is a similar price to Megs. I might try the new CarPro one next, but will probably find my way back to Megs.

I have Megs QID, Gyeon Interior Detailer and CarPro InnerQD in my cabinet.

The Gyeon is my least favorite, for the reasons outlined above. It's only ok, not great.

In the middle would be the Megs, it's just a great all-rounder. I grab this when I do customer cars as it's relatively economical.

The one I like most is the new CarPro InnerQD, a very nice product to use with a slightly stronger lemon scent than Megs.

I'm about to detail the above Ranger again this week after a month, I'll see how valid the "anti-static" claims are.

If I had to rate them, the difference between Megs to InnerQD would not be large, the Gyeon would be further back though.

InnerQD - 9.5/10
Megs QID - 9.0/10
Gyeon ID - 6.0/10

Thanks for providing your views and I’m glad I’m not alone!

I have to say that like you I’d rate the Gyeon detailer around the 5-6/10 as well.

Here in Aus all three are a similar price so I’m not constrained in that regard and I only use around a bottle a year or so as I just do our cars which are pretty well maintained. I’ll give the new CarPro InnerQD a go and see what I think.

Have you found any other use for the Gyeon? I’d hate to waste it, but as above it would take me a while to use and I don’t really want to use it for interior wipe downs anymore.

I just cycle through products, even the ones I don't like, they eventually get used up. I have 6 cars I regularly maintain, and a few customer cars, it will get used up eventually.

I know what you mean though and I hate waste too. When I started doing more customer cars in mid-2020, I went and bought a gallon of Meguiar's Cleaner and Conditioner, only to discover it to be a horribly greasy and slippery product. Have an almost full gallon bottle taking up room in my cabinet.

Yeah true, I guess with a lot of cars to maintain as well as customer cars stuff would get used up one way or another.

I’m the opposite, just two cars I maintain so sometimes it’s hard to persevere with a product that I’m not happy with as it could take ages to finally use it up. I don’t like casting something aside but sometimes it happens. Then there are new products I just always want to try as well. New products sometimes come out before I’ve even managed to use up what I have!

I have far too many products that do the same job, but that's half the fun for me. Yes it's a waste of money, but I consider smoking, drinking, dining and holidays to be a waste of money though.

I actually had a product purge a few weeks ago, all of these had not been used in a long time for a variety of reasons, they found a new home in the dust bin and I freed up space for something new!

That’s true, I am similar but I am trying to change my ways slightly and limit that just to some some product categories. Detailing sprays and shampoos I will always buy multiple to try! Space is also an issue for me! I have so many polishes and waxes that will never get used again.

I was thinking the other day if I didn’t spend all this money on detailing gear I could have got the next model up in car (which I really want) when I bought it. But, as you say it is fun and it’s not like it is an unhealthy hobbie like smoking or drinking.

Have you guys tried a Rinselwash for your interior? They work well for that IMO.

I haven’t. QDs are good as they include some protection as well.

McKees Fast Interior Detailer is meant to be good as well .

I just purchased it 4 weeks ago. Used it once, it did what it qas supposed to do but the ipa content also had me concerned... are we supposed to neutralize this product after use?... like a sealer

I have been applying a dressing after using it and it does feel to me like it has the ability to remove shorter term dressings. I have no objective data for this claim, just an observation in its apparent alcohol content as well as visible cleaning ability.
The product does claim to lay down some UV protection.

I also have a 1 year NV dressing on my plastics and have no idea how this QD would impact it either. I usually dress the plastics regardless of which interior detailer I’m using anyway as I only wipe down once a month or so.

I actually used Gyeon Interior Detailer again today to give it a second chance.

Today, I applied a generous amount to a rolled microfiber towel and avoided spraying directly onto surfaces. Using more product and somewhat soaking the towel, I found I got much better results with Q2 Interior Detailer.

I think with these sort of products, the finish they leave is a much drier, matte appearance compared to the very obvious difference a traditional interior dressing produces. I think maybe we are looking at these interior detailers perhaps with clouded expectations, I guess if a more noticeable difference is desired, a follow up dressing is going to be needed.

I still prefer the CarPro and Megs offerings but after today, I think I like the Gyeon product a little bit more than I did previously.

I have been using ONR mixed as a quick detailer more and more for interiors lately.

This is how I used it as well while testing it.

When I used it I tried to compare it directly to Megs Quik Interior Detail rather than a dressing of some sort which would alter appearance more so.

It still seemed to somewhat flash really quickly even while soaking the towel, and I felt like it left the plastics a lot drier than Megs or other ‘interior detailers’ I have used before - noting that they claim to give an OEM Matte finish.

Maybe my expectations for what matte looks like is altered and the others that claim to be matte actually aren’t.

My ideal interior detailer has light cleaning, with light protection adding to existing protection rather than stripping it - same expectations of an exterior detailer I guess.

Curiosity got the better of me, P&S Express ready to trial.

I’ve liked it but I haven’t compared it to many. Seems to clean well without leaving any residue I’ve noticed, then again I usually “rinse” with a wet microfiber after using it. I use Connolly Hide Cleaner on leather so I don’t use it on leather but every other interior surface I do.

If I need a bit more cleaning power like a steering wheel or shift knob I use P&S Express at 2:1

It foams up a bit more with a brush and I think it cleans deeper than Megs Quik Interior offering but like dgage stated you pretty much need to follow up with a damp towel

I like Megs for routine dusting and surface wipe down though as it needs no damp towel follow up

I said in another thread the Megs reminds me of the old Einzett Cockpit in its cleaning ability, just a much milder smell
