Last year I applied gyeon mohs to my friends car for the first time, 2 layers (coats)

I had tiny bit of left over that was just enough to cover 1 layer on my truck hood and ..... my truck hood is as good as my friends whole car.

Washed it with gyeon essence so I know there is nothing interference
and water beading was still great year later.

I am still impressed by its self-cleaning ability
and other than minor water spots from not getting washed for few months....

Do they requires 2nd layer to make sure 100% of panel is covered and make sure there is no weak spot?
or is this just way to make us use more products

idk... just thoughts.

I don't know for sure but my instinct tell me its 2 coats to ensure 100 percent coverage. Either way when it comes to ceramic coatings or any other products for that matter, its usually best to follow the manufacturers recommendations to be safe.

For longevity use two layers. If you ran out top it with Can coat.

Yeah. 2 is best. Lasts longer. Top with Skin and good to go.
