I've been getting the urge to try something else and I stumbled upon a video of Gyeon Wax. Very hydrophobic but seems to lack durability.

I recently applied waxes to both our vehicles, I say it was for some extra protection, but I think it was also some detail therapy for me.

I used TWHS Graphene Infused Wax on the FJ, I bought it on clearance for $10. I wish I'd gone with Collinite 845, or Dodo Juice Light Fantastic, which I forgot I had on the back of the shelf. The TWHS stuff seems to have good hydrophobics, but hasn't done much for the gloss. Also buffing it off the white roof was a bit more difficult than on the silver paint. I'll be interested to see how it goes on the next wash.

On the Qashqai I used Dodo Juice Blue Velvet, which a very pleasurable application, and the results were stunning. I haven't had a chance to test out the water behaviour yet.

Both vehicles have NV Lustre and Jet sealants applied about 6 months ago, which are holding up fine on both, but I decided to add something extra for protection as we head into the days with more daylight, and stronger UV, just like for me, I've started putting the SPF50+ sunblock on when I go out.

Gyeon Wax sounds interesting, I may have to check it out, I used to have Wetcoat in my arsenal many years ago.

The hazing is something I've read about. I just threw on another layer of Can Coat. I think I'm going to hold off in trying the wax. Not worth it right now. Not ideal for topping CC either.

Gyeon wax is pretty incredible. The hydrophobics are on point with high quality ceramic coatings. Of course the drawback is that it is very short lived. I can't recall how long it lasted for me. Maybe a month or two?

The effort is just not worth the reward IMO.

I agree. More I thought about it I realized it doesn't make sense.
