After reading how many of you use a leaf blower to dry the car, I decided to give it a try. I cleaned up my little used leaf blower and after washing the Nissan Quest this evening I let the leaf blower scream! It worked pretty well, but it was tough getting the top of the Quest and after a bit the blower seemed rather heavy. Also dealing with the power cord is a pain. It sure was nice how it blew out the water around the mirrors!

Lowes has a Black & Decker cordless one for 70 bucks. It blows 120 mph, I have no idea how that compares to my old blower.

Has anyone tried a cordless? Think 120 Mph would do the job?

Yeah a guy on the corvetteforum said he used one and it was great. If you go over there and search in the car care forum you should be able to find the thread.

I imagine it is harder to blow off a larger car.

I use a 220 mph leaf blower that I got from Lowes and it works great, as long as the car has a good coat of wax fresh sealant. I think it was $110.00. I then use a WW to clean up the last few drops of water.

I do something similar. I use one of those water blades to dry the car. Then I use the leaf blower to get anything I missed and water that I cant get to.

your playing with fire, and one grain of sand will show you that water blades are not OUR suggested means for drying.

:iagree: I stopped using my water blade years ago when I realized what a ticking time bomb it was. I later gave it away to a neighbor who doesn't care about his car that much.

works great in the shower ... keeps the wife happy, much cheaper than divorce, or worse having to clean the shower myself :p

What should be used instead?

leaf blower and a soft micro waffle weave. Most here love their Guzzlers.

What about the Cobra Super-Plush Deluxe Microfiber Towel? What would dry better, The Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave By Cobra 20" x 40", or the Cobra Super-Plush Deluxe Microfiber Towel 16” x 24”? Probably the Guzzler since its bigger right?

The guzzler would be the better one for drying. The Super plush is more for QDing IMO. :)
