what does that mean ? inexpensive ? you can drive it without messing up yer hair ? what ?

thanks.

I think it's meant to be reflect the type of car a female hairdresser would drive. A smaller, "cute" car that is simply something to be seen in and no real performance.

Typically this label has been put on small, low powered, convertible coupes or sports cars. The cars I've heard tagged with the name are the VW Golf Cabriolet, Mazda Miata, and a convertable Mustang with the base engine.

The Cabriolet and Mustang *might* deserve the title, but I watch big guys squeeze themselves into tiny Miata's on autocross weekeds and then destory the competition, so I'd give that car a pass.

Honestly, I haven't heard the term in quite a while and even then from older guys. Hopefully the stereotypes have fallen away.

For me it means,

Take care of the car that belongs to the person that cuts your hair.

This belongs to the lady that cuts my hair,

Same idea goes with those that prepare your food.

A girly car is what it means. I will refrain from giving examples to avoid hurting feelings around the forum.

I've owned a Crossfire and a MINI Cooper S and both have been referred to as a "hair dressers" car, especially the Crossfire. That said, oh well

My daughter is a hair stylist and drives a 328XI coupe.
So yeah N/A engine, sporty and super shiny with CQUK3
Don't tell the guys that love their non turbo BMWs that it's a womans car.

I won't ever profess to understand some
of the vehicle choices made by those that
have two copies of the X chromosome.

Well, this topic is a well debated one for a looooon time but the one SOLID choice is the VW Cabrio, no doubt about it. Being from Detroit it would be said something like the Miata is one of those cars but when you hear that nonsense just know your speaking to a "non-car guy", same thing with the MINI or 500, although it helps having the perf version of both....oh yeah, I should've mentioned that earlier when I brought up the Crossfire/MINI comment, guess the ES has already made me forget the Abarth, how can this be

For me, it is a derogatory term from people who are also probably just as ignorant when it comes to other social situations (that I will not name).

Car choices are like opinions. Everyone has their own.

Saying "Hairdressers car" is like telling someone that their opinion sucks and doesn't matter to you.

There are plenty of cars/trucks I find to be unappealing, but I keep that to myself. Why worry about it, or worse yet hurt someone's feelings??

I have a Miata. I like it.
I got a smile on my face every day I drive. go cart fun IMO.

That's ALL that matters, man.

Anyone that feels the need to outwardly disagree needs to re-examine their status as an "adult".

It doesn’t matter your car. I catch flak for my 5.0 all the time.

“Why’d you buy a convertible in WA?”

“Why did you not get a manual?”

“Having a mid life crisis?”

“Compensating?”

I bought what the F\€K I wanted. Why you worried about it. Like Oz_ said it puts a smile on my face. Espcially when I’m dustin them.
Buy what you want. Enjoy it. Late the haters, hate.

I have to ignore so much of this BS today it is incredible.

It's like their social media self spills out, but in person.

Society is being slowly eroded, my good friends.

Politeness, manners, and dare I cross a line by mentioning "chivalry" lest I offend someone "unidentified" are almost dead in this era.

It is a shame for me.

You mean things like Fiat and Mini coopers and WW Beetles? ;)

Some cars appeal more to women, nothing wrong with that. Actually it's a good thing cause most of the other models are more geared towards men.

Was on a cruise and this white 2019 Camaro SS ZL1 pulls up and a girl gets out of the passenger side. Then another girl gets out the driver side

One of the sexiest things I’ve ever seen

I see more males in fiats and mini coopers than women.... opposite in beetles

Honda Fit????
Basic transportation car, a swiss army knife because of what you could put in it and how you could configure the seats. I needed a car at that point in my life and couldn't keep the MINI, so Honda put me in a car with the economy going south and a recent divorce. Had that car been a stick I would've kept it, it was driving me nutz, so I found another stick attached to the CR-Z, another "hairdrssers" car, maybe to some but I liked that car too...needed more powah, the Abarth took care of that

I only thought it meant the girl’s personal car that is cutting your hair

I didn’t know it was slang for anything ? But then again I don’t have social media so I might be behind the times some
