so after going to the bank i decided to drop by the local sears and take a gander

i was in the market for a tripod light so i went to go see my options...they of course had the single tripod and the double tripod halogen lights

i was gonna get the double for 39.99 or somethin, but they had the individual ones on sale for 12 bucks...i picked up 1, the guy said its better to have 2 than 1 of the double tripods that way u can angle them around you so that ur not getting 100000000 degrees on the back of your neck..and these are also removable to be used as portable lights as well

and of course JOSEPH (KLUMZ) was interested in taht flourecent light ..so i had them take it out of the box and test it...i dont have any pics of the lights on, but it sucks...sucks liek crap...crap crap crap..so ya i didnt buy it...and i think its 40$ as well..

so heres what i got and tested today

go to sears for those looking for more tripod lights...on sale til saturday i believe

I saw those lights too, but instead of them i saw a set of double tripod halogen lights at loews that are detachable for 24.00 bucks. It was before i went to work on a saturday when they open and it was reg. price for 44.00 bucks. It was a one day special and they only had 2 there. So far i haven't got any problems with them yet......

I have the same halogens, only the double. I'm very happy with them so far, they work quite well. Of course I use the Brinkman Xenon as well, and have actually been using that more than the halogens.

Nice find there! I have the single one that sits on the ground. I use it for lighting up the garage, not so much for spotting swirls.

Hey thanks for sharing.. looks like a trip to Sears is in store for me!

i wonder how many of these i would need... i think ima buy 1 more for sure...and then maybe another so that i have it just as a work light for outside..haha these are soo cool

sunset in so cal is 6pm now..usually sets at 830 in teh summer

also good to have in spotting swirls even under shop lights

Man so the fluorescents are bad ey :p thanks for looking out Neil! Haha gonna get a third tripod? man you must love those lights! I am going to peep some out for sure.

I have the double 500w light from sears, its nice, got it for 25$ I believe. I had to look through 5 boxes that they had there to find the least damaged one though. My light was fine when I got it home, except for one broken bulb, but sears took care of it on the next trip. I do wish it were a little taller so it could shine more straight down on some panels.

great guys! too bad when i busted mine out at 2am this mornin to play with it there were broken parts...didnt have time to get it swapped but i will tomorrow

I have double tripod along with 2 singles that I angle up from the ground. No question they provide tons of light, but man they generate a lot of heat too.
When I use them in my garage, even in the winter, I must loose 10 lbs. by
sweating. There must be something else that comes on a tripod that I could buy. I really don't care what they cost, it's worth it to me to be comfortable while I'm detailing. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
