Just bought a tripod with 2 500w lights ( a total of 1000w) at HD. The light in my garage is'nt helping, i can'nt even see the polish when Im working it, so I hope this helps me see a little better. What are you guys using now in the year 2012 jajaja I say this because during my search most post were when you guys were young (2009).

I want to get some flourescent light stands or something with low heat output. The heat in Vegas is bad enough without the Halogens.

I have found some light stands on amazon but would like to know what others are using as well.

Imagine the heat here in PR, but i really need some kind of light in my garage.

I have four, four bulb flourescent fixtures in my garage for a total of 16 4 foot bulbs. I am thinking about adding two more overhead 4 bulb fixtures for a total of 24 bulbs. I think that will get me the kind of light that I want.

Or maybe I will hang them sideways on the wall. Dont know yet.

I started with the same lighting as the OP and it worked pretty nice aside from being hot and not being able to reach higher vehicles. I've since put a bunch of strip lights in and it works much better. I still use the light stand for low angle stuff though.

Just a bit to much money :) do you have one? If so do you like it?

LOL I wish. I always thought it would be perfect though for detailing as you could swivel it around as necessary.

Those light look like the ones on a dentist office, and the price fits a Dr too.

Someone took a couple of the halogen light stands and mounted a florescent fixture on them...looked like it would work great. I'll see if I can find the thread.

its good to know that if the halogen dosent work i can always do that! Thanks Dave:xyxthumbs:
