This gorgeous bike belongs to a friend and co-worker. He got it as a tribute to his mother shortly after she passed on as she wanted him to get one and he never did when she was alive. You'll see the tribute on the front fender. Jeff keeps the bike in fantastic condition and was going to be taking it on a long road trip. He wanted the front protected. I suggested CQuartz Finest. Boy, firing this thing up with its straight, unbaffled Vance & Hines Long Shots sure made me miss mine!!
There are no before shots. Trust me, it looked good. What I did to it is as follows:
Wash with my foam cannon using DG 901. Bucket wash with DG 901. Rinse and dry with the Master Blaster.
The bike was then brought inside. I kept my old lift from my Suzuki for doing bike details. It sure came in handy for this one!

The paint was in great shape in terms of no swirls, etc. I wanted to make the metallic "pop" some more and in general just get it to glow. For that result, I went with a 2 step process. First up was using Sonax Perfect Finish via my Megs DA with a 4" yellow B/S pad. That was followed up with a white 4" B/S and Megs 205. DG Squeaky Clean paint cleaner was used to prepare the paint for coating and check the honest results of the polishing. 2 coats of CQF were applied to the paint. The front fender actually got 3. I wanted as much protection on his tribute as possible.
The chrome was all cleaned by hand with DG SC and then coated with 2 coats of CQF. I was looking forward to doing the front wheel the most. I honestly think it's the nicest looking m/c front wheel I have seen for both looks, ease of cleaning and ease of applying a product to them. Gosh, did they ever gleam with CQF! The windshield got the same 2 steps as the paint and double coated as well.
The seat and saddle bags were coated with DG 341. I've never used it on motorcycle seats before and I'm very curious to see how they hold up to the elements. I applied it heavily using a foam applicator. I wiped down any residual about 10 minutes later.
I was 7 hours working time total.
Here are some inside shots:

The chrome on this bike was just magnificent!

See what I mean about the wheels?

I really like how these next 2 shots turned out!!!

Now for a last few outside shots (bummer it was cloudy!)

Metallic even showing up in cloudy skies:

I also love these last 2 shots:

My buddy was very, very pleased when he picked it up and changed his FB profile shot to a shot of the bike and mentioned me in the change too. I appreciated the shout-out from him for that.
Thanks for looking!
