Can't find it in any of my local stores or even at (gasp) Walmart lol. I hate when I find a great product and then it goes away. I'm down to my last bottle so thought I'd pick some up and can't find it. Looked on their website and it is not listed as a current product, and then saw this crazy stuff:

Turtle Wax T 8 Rinse Free Wash and Wax 33 8 Oz | eBay

People are actually buying it for over 30 bucks for a 5.00 bottle LOL. I'm thinking it must not be made anymore for pricing to jump like this? I'm going with ONR if I can't find it. Anyway thought maybe someone has some info on it, I really like the stuff for a special garage queen car that I don't want to get too wet.

It's not on their website anymore.

$30.00?!?!?! I picked up 3 bottles for $15.00 at pep boys a couple years ago!!!

LOL, I know, I'm not sure if people just don't look around or what, but I picked it up at Advance for like 3 bucks on clearance and then when I couldn't get it there Walmart had it for 6 bucks. Even people on Amazon are getting over 21.00 for it now so I'm thinking it was a dropped product, very sad about it b/c it was a great product, one of the only ones I think TW had. Oh well I'll be going ONR I guess, I've emailed TW to see what gives but don't expect to hear much.

Now's the perfect time to purchase the best, and most
economical, RW-product on the market: Meguiar's D114.

Just think:
1 gallon of D114 will make up to
256 gallons of RW-solution!!

No, actually TW has a few great products, the jet black endura tire coating and trim coating that are very long lasting.:dblthumb2:

I really liked the Ice Paste. Great beading show, and great durability.

I always like on the show Shark Tank when people talk about their dream being going to retail. My favorite response is when the Sharks refer to retail as a cruel siren calling you in with volume and sales. What retail does not show is the massive amount of work behind the scenes.
I'm sure that once a couple of the auto retailers dropped it the product was not worth making to them. It's really unfortunate as I liked the rw as well. I actually picked up an extra bottle of the jet black trim coating just in case it gets discontinued.

Oh shoot--I was thinking about trying the tire coating when I run out of my conventional dressings...let me check my calendar...in about 2019...are you saying it might not be available then?

If you want the Meguiars equivalent to Turtle's rinse free wash and wax it would be D115. D114 is without the wax . Both of these Meguiars products are great and equal to or better then ONR IMO.

Waiting for a Turtle Wax coating. Not for my car, but for my pet turtle. I already clean his shell with their RW.

the mass market isn't ready for rinseless. it's next to impossible in a retail setting imo to convey the message of rinseless being safe. it's a shame because the stuff is indeed autogeek-level quality.

i can understand why people like the convenience of having stuff close by in a retail capacity. i'm not like that for my detailing stuff, but rinseless isn't a high volume product for some enthusiasts so it was cool to be able to just go to a local store and have access to this sort of technology amongst the rest of the crap that is out on the market in that section of the stores. plus paying for shipping on some of this stuff makes the price quite a bit higher.

yeah, this seems more accurate. while i'm not short-changing the Megs stuff, as i haven't used either D114 or D115, there is a significant price difference between 115 and ONRWW if you are looking at the bulk buy value.

D115 - $62.99 sale price on AG
makes 256 rw gallons
.25 per gallon

ONRWW - $49.99 on AG
makes 256 rw gallons
.20 per gallon

(Pinnacle is same price/ratio as ONRWW)

that said, i think D114 is a strong play, esp at the "sale" price, since it's not only cheap but so versatile. the "panel wipe" feature is interesting to me. i want to try it at some point.

What?? The mass market thinks it's safe to use a QD as a wash.

I think it's more likely that the mass market can't wrap it's head around a "soap" that you don't have to rinse off.

right, that you don't need a hose for pre-rinse or rinse away post-wash.

but even for people in the know, it can be hard to handle. around here people have modified and added steps and directions to the rinseless wash instructions due to paranoia.

I think they can't wrap their heads around a soap with out bubbles.

That's what I'm saying, the mass market isn't "in the know", and they don't know a swirl from a squirrel, so "marring" from a rinseless wash isn't even in their vocabulary.

As you are noting, it took years to convince even people "in the know" that rinseless wash was a worthy alternative to conventional, I'm saying that for the guy in the auto parts store or the big box store, he understands a waterless wash or QD, because that's like spraying 409 on your counter, and he understands a conventional soap that you rinse off, because that's like washing dishes or clothes or your hands, but a rinseless wash sounds like a bunch of BS to him. Not because he's afraid he'll mar his car (because he might spray windex or QD on his filthy car and wipe it off), but because he doesn't understand the concept.

1. What's the D114 equivalent to the gtechniq panel wipe? A very strong dilution?

2. Does Meguiar's approve of it?

I can't find it anymore either and their HQ is right here in town. Its a great product in what it does but it's not cost effective like DG's rinseless wash is, so once my current gallon is empty I will replace it with another.

I just liked using the TW and IMO it wasn't marketed correctly and/or the average Joe consumer just didn't understands what it really was.

As far as $30 plus for a bottle, well, PT Barnum is alive and well I guess because you can have a gallon of DG rinseless for about $45 shipped!

•1:4-6 is considered to be D114's "wax-stripper" strength.
-I'll say that's a "pretty strong" dilution ration.

2. Does Meguiar's approve of it?
Yes. They should. They're the ones that
came up with the dilution ratios. :)

If you have a Menards store in your area, check there, they had in stock last time I checked.
