*Disclaimer - Venting!

Most of you know that I moved to Ohio last month from Georgia. In GA I had a nice two-car garage, cabinets, lighting, sealed epoxy floor, painted walls, etc. Love to detail and had a great space to accomplish this...

WELL...

I now have a one car, unfinished, one 65 watt light, uneven floor, manual garage door and when I pull my Jeep in, I have roughly two feet on both sides...

So, one of our cars is always outside and most times both are. My new job (which I love!) does not have covered parking, like my last one did...

Its depressing going out and seeing your car all dirty (my Jeep is black!) and not have the proper space like I did...

I know, other people have the same problem, just made me upset when I came out, drizzle, dew, etc. on the ride - looked at the wife's and the same thing!

We are only renting this house for a year until we find where we want to live - so a MUST will be a two car garage...

Yes, I need some cheese with my wine!!!!

HAHAHA---grrrr

wth? i just dont know you anymore!

lol

it's OK!!! just take a deep breath, order some opticoat 2 and prepare for winter road salts!
please tell me you have a concrete driveway!

welcome to the world of the daily driver battle! when the daily stays outside 24/7 & you purchase a 12x12 canopy to cover the jeep while cleaning in the driveway.

soon, you'll be posting a thread with photos of your home with a 3,4 or 5 car garage.

just hang in there... and opticoat like the apocalypse is coming!

Covered parking!! I wish! As I said in another thread, I park 20 feet from the busiest highway in Canada, maybe North America at times, and right across from the airport. After 8 hours you can draw a happy face on my hood in the dust! :)

I do feel your pain though. My garage has barely enough room to fart in.

I dont even have parking at work :) I park on the street. No garage at all and my car is black. I work 10 hour days and +4hrs on saturday, have a family and new born, go to the gym 4-5 days a week and still manage to keep my car clean.

You'll be ok ;)

In a similar situation, apartment complex, new car.....

Seriously, it's rare anyone's DD isn't outside most of the time, exposed to all the elements.

If I had a mortgage (translated: "measure of death" ) noose I'd put around my neck again, it'd just mean a few hours each night in the garage.

I deal with it by using "quick detailer" daily, it's fun! Keep it in the trunk during the day, wash the microfiber out each night. Car looks better than my last one ever did because my former garage let me be lazy about all this.

Good luck, you'll find your balance, just do what makes you happy and don't let any steal estate brokers sucker you into something you might not want. ;)

I feel your pain. I park outdoors all day long and in the afternoon my car has a fine layer of dust on it. (Work at a cabinet shop) I do have decent garage though and that does a make a huge difference.

I was unaware that you moved to the great state of Ohio. Welcome! Can I ask where your at? As you can see I am in Ohio as well.

Aye.
I was wondering the same thing Troy.

I used to live close to Dover, just over in Worthington. Basically by the 270/Sawmill exit.

Now I live up under Cleveland in this small little town (in comparison), Medina. I miss the Columbus area, but didn't have much of a choice to stay at that point in my life.

You will be ok I promise..., I moved from Tampa to WV, depressing enough.

To top it off NO garage. 3 cars one black:(. I have to use my Portal Cable at the local parking garage, with a 50 foot extension cord.

Trying to learn the lay of the land, but I am just outside Cleveland in a city called Lyndhurst. I work in Gates Mills!

It is more that I used to love to wash and pull in my garage and go to work! Now, I have to do things a little different!

Sorry to hear about your current residential woes. :(

BTW...(It's a "buyers-market" now in Ohio...I'm sure you'll find that a more:
Suitable-housing-arrangement...is ripe for the picking.)

OH! The "Southern Comfort" of Georgia...

Now, if you wouldn't mind...Once you, your family, and vehicles make it through your first,
of what are usually harsh winter seasons in Northeastern Ohio...

Tell us about your: OH! The discomfort of frozen toes!

:)

Bob

I don't mind my car sitting out, I just would like a place to work on them. I have honestly thought about renting a storage unit just for that reason. I called a couple of different places and none of them have electricity.

I wish I had your "problems". It's funny how we always think of what we don't have, instead of what we do have. I'm sure you have it better than a lot of people. Keep your chin up, no reason to be depressed.

Being homeless is reason to be depressed.
