All these cute pics and vids of us "detailers" cleaning cars makes the hardcore, hardworking detailer laugh out loud heartily!

I watch vids about car washing. The car they use to demonstrate is already clean! Spotless! Like it's been meticulously detailed for hours! They they are gonna wash it! Ha!

And no offense to the makers of "interior care" on the vid but all they did under "interior care" was vacuum some grit off the passenger side carpet! There is a lot more to interior care than that! Pay me and I'll make you a good video!

When you get detailing for a living several cars a day, you dont always get perfectly clean cars in, as a matter of fact, you rarely do.

Here are some samples of real pro car detailing!
Go ahead and sling mud if you must! I'm prepared!

Try and do that with a tiny vacuum cleaner!

I get these types of cars all the time. :( Its nothing new to me.

Those "interior care" videos are meant to show the beginners and novinces the basics of cleaning interiors.

(BTW, you missed a couple spots in the second picture. :p)

I recently saw a thread on MOL like this, it was a really dirty Suburban interior, carpet and leather was very soiled as well. Came out really great in the end though.

You did a gret job cleaning those two up though.

What did you do to get the dirt and mudd off the seat?

Just worked on a friend's Lexus RX400.
Her kids had spilled an entire hot fudge sundae on the floor.
Wouldn't have been much of a problem if it had at least been wiped up with a wet cloth. But her little darling didn't say anything so it sat on (and in, and under) the carpet for at least a month. I had trouble even lifting up the plastic dish it was so glued on there. It took six going overs with water, cleaner, and more hot water. Came out fine in the end.

But I must say that the fudge still tasted pretty good.:hungry: At least my neighbor's new puppy thought so.

How much Armor All did you have to use to get those results? (joking) That is closer to what I normally end up detailing myself. I love when I occasionally get a nice car in to polish on. Nice pics...:props:

And btw my comments are just in fun, they are not meant to criticize the vids. :)

Hey I been preaching this on every wheel cleaning vid i see also.... Spray all wheel safe cleaner on lightly agitate and rinse my ASS!... Hell my own wheels have spots that Wheel brightener wont budge and they get cleaned every 2 weeks. I'd love to see someone clean up a neglected rim with some of the products they show :)

Did rims and wheels today that were completely black with brake dust, rustproofing oil and dirt. I should of took pics they were so bad, but I was in a hurry. Anyways brace yourself...

Spray Nine! I didnt even have to agitate. Rinsed with the pressure washer. Rims look brand new. Makes me wonder why I would need
to buy wheel cleaner.

To feel safe with the tag line "All Wheel Safe" attached to it... not sure what's in spray nine though... probably isn't safe on unfinished aluminum... Might be... I might have to keep a small bottle around to try out on the next set of bad wheels...

Whats in spray nine?

Anyone? Anyone?

Sonax wheel cleaner:xyxthumbs: really amazing product, as is Iron Cut.

As for the OP...yes, the vids are of relatively clean cars, but they're to show beginners how to do things. Most people that watch these videos are wanting to maintain their own cars, and actually care about them so they don't get in that bad of condition. However...I would be all in for Mike to do a video about how to clean REALLY dirty cars (Caked in mud, mud all over seats and in interior. That...would be a cool vid Im the MAN

Yes we have had our share of dirty ones...The bottom one is a Dodge minivan that the owner did not want to spend a lot of $.She picked it up and said it was cleaner than when she bought it "used".We hand cleaned it....

Some people should have their drivers licence taken away, letting a car get so dirty.

I've cleaned quite a few in my day. thats where your experience & knowledge of the right chemical comes in to play!

Nice job guys!:dblthumb2:

I think some customers really don't appreciate the effort that goes into getn their car back to NORMAL standards. Cuz a few months down the road,it's right back to the Pit(mud, debris, etc) Stop

I get a kick out of this comment as I've done a couple cars where they've said this. I find it funny someone would buy a car that wasn't that clean??? I agree though, my vehicles are the only ones that look like the vids, but most people aren't as picky about their vehicles either (so I get paid to clean them, works for me)

I have been thinking this for a long time as well. LOL

I remember when I first started detailing back in 1994, I did a car that had chicken s**** an inch thick on 75% of the interior. It was a trade in to a used car dealership I did some work for. I later found out from the lot owner, that the previous owners house was this way as well.

Park it on your lawn and pressure wash it.

Free fertilizer!

The guy raised chickens, and left his windows down all the time. Me and my partner had to use puddy knifes to chisel most of it out. A pressure washer would have been ideal.:buffing:

I admire the fact that you took on the job. I would have told them $2000 cash up front or take a hike.
