Now some of my friends cars have this hazing on there cars, after they have used a polisher to try taking out swirls themselves, obviously they must have done something wrong.

But to my question what removes hazing left after aggressive polishers

After your swirl remover i would be looking at either a paint cleanser or a mildly abrasive polish starting on a polish pad and see if that did the job.

:iagree: Paint cleanser, finishing polish.......;)

Make sure you clay first. You might have some overspray on it for some odd reason. Can happen if he was even using a spray can to paint something. Paint can travel FAR when airborne.

theres two reasons for hazing after the use of a buffer.

1. Polish --- they stopped to soon and did not allow the polish to break down properly. Especially with the PC, you will need 5-7 minutes per panel minimum. This is usually the number 1 reason, as they stop after a minute and start wiping off the abrasive polish while still damp, and well abrasive.

2. Micromarring --- when using certain very aggressive polishes and very aggressive pads, the swirls are essentially broken down into many more little finer scratches. This is where you need to j-ewel the surface. Thus moving to less abrasive polishes and less abrasive pads till you finally get to the finishing pad and finishing polish.

:iagree:

These are 2 of the most common reasons for hazing/micromarring...and probably 90% of the reason people don't get the results they are trying to achieve when polishing.

Some other common mistake are using too much product and, if using a PC, moving it too fast when working it in.

Most of the time people don't see the hazing/micromarring because they aren't using proper lighting when polishing. Hazing/micromarring is usually only seen on darker non-metallic paint in direct sun (no haze or cloud covering), halogen or equivalent lighting. It's hard to see under normal incandescent or fluorescent lighting.

For intial swirl removing... Speed and pad choice?... color pad

Speed 5-6 for any type of swirl/marring removal
Pad - depends on the severity of the swirls/marring but always start with a polishing pad and work up in aggressiveness

For final polishing..... Speed and pad choice... color pad

Speed - I like to use 4.5 - 5 to burnish the paint and remove any micromarring/hazing...I also like ot back it down to 4 for the last few passes.

Pad - polishing

For appling wax or sealer.... Speed and pad choice...color pad

Speed - 3
pad - finishing pad

For removing wax or sealer....Speed and pad choice...color pad

Microfiber towel by hand

or MF bonnet speed -3

And for final buffing??...... Speed and pad choice...color pad

I do a final buffing by hand
