HD SPEED topped with Power Lock

I understand that HD Speed is a 3 in 1 and has a wax. But they say you should not lay a wax down before a sealant how true is that. And I know people will say use Poxy but i have always used Menzerna Power Lock.

Will Power Lock still protect my car just as long after using HD speed before. Or should I just get a one step compound like Scholls Concept s20 Black then lay down my sealant?

Im sure powerlock would be fine over speed. Maybe less longevity or something. But a lot of people will say that if you plan on using a sealant just use a polish and not an all in one. On the other hand a lot of people top speed with waxes and sealants. Either one will be fine.

Why not just use Menzerna 3 in 1 then instead of Speed and Powerlock?

I did an Audi a few weeks ago with Speed and then topped with PowerLock. I can't speak for longevity yet but the combo looked great together.

My question is why?

If you are going through the trouble of using HD Speed. Why not use a dedicated Polish instead of a cleaner wax? You should be able to get better correction with the correct selection and polish and pad than you would with Speed and your LSP (Power Lock) should last longer if bound directly to the paint instead of sitting on top a less durable wax (which is most likely a sealant too BTW, just not as good as PowerLock).

I totally agree with you. This customer didn't care about the swirls and scratches and flat out told me he will be taking the care through automatic car washes again. He just wanted a polish to bring back some shine, remove the holograms and buffer trails and some protection also. I had never used Speed before so I gave it a try and it reacted well with the paintwork. I knew the protection left from Speed wasn't very long lasting so I put PowerLock over it.
