Headlamp Flashlight?

Anyone out there use a headlamp when doing interior details? I have bad lighting in my garage and rather than messing around with a corded LED light, thinking I will pick up a headlamp. Looking for a good one.
 
I have a cordless led light that works well. If you want to go to the next level get one of those long led light bars that hook on your hood when working on an engine. NAPA has them and I believe harbor freight. No cords lots of light
 
Using a Coast HL27...use it for both interior/exterior....makes it much easier to find the small stuff...
 
I use my Nitecore HC90 all the time when doing paint correction and interior jobs.
And I also have an ATD underhood light that is just plain awesome to use for interiors.
 
Coast is so so. They're over priced IMO.

They make a rechargable version (which you can replace the batteries or just use regualr AAAs in)

Very bright, I can't use it on the max setting in tight quarters, blinding reflections.

You'll be hard pressed to find a headlamp like this one at this price.

nah, i turn it off if i'm not using it. there is a big button on top you hit to turn it on or off. hmm, what do you mean re: clicking? the button is silent when i press it.

i def don't find myself wanted more light, haha. i love the fact that it has the touch sensitive dimmer on the side because sometimes it's too much light for the task at hand.

By clicking I meant the pushing of the button, not the noise it makes. I switch brightness alot and the need to push the button again and again to change options in annoying.
 
If you're looking for a headlamp, you may want to look into the INOVA STS Headlamp They have a swipe feature so there's no button clicking. I have a traditional style rechargeable flashlight (their T4R) and can attest for their lifetime warranty replacement. Certain online auction sites may have them cheaper.

Poor reviews....not a good product....100 lumens at best... $10 more buys you the BEST 310 lumens.... Very adjustable, bright.....Coast HL 27

it's just a matter of tapping the side. tapping the side will give you full power, then tapping again will bring it back to whatever lower power setting you originally set with the top button.

so you can go through a detail job using two levels of brightness and toggle them with a touch to the side of the unit.
 
I use a Cree headlamp. It's kind of bulky but very bright and is rechargeable. I bought a 2nd one, that's how much I like it.
 
I have had the Black Diamond 130 lumen version for a long time and initially bought it for camping. Then 3 years ago, while doing a rinseless wash inside the garage at night, I thought I needed more light and decided to use it. Knocking my head for not using it before then!! Comes in handy especially in the winter, when days are short. And it's always in my glove compartment for emergencies.

However, my son spent 3 summers in Yukon at a mining/exploration job campsite out in the wilderness and he has a Petzl Myo RXP headlamp. I've compared it side-by-side to my Black Diamond, and it's a much better headlamp. It's a beast of a light at 200 lumens. But it's also a little bit more money.
