Hi,
I need a headlamp for exterior detailing in low light environments.
Requirements are a 'floody' beam and a long battery life and whatever else you recommend.
Prefer rechargeable batteries.

I was looking at this:
Amazon.com

What do you think?

I have an Led Lenser MH5 rechargeable headlamp. It has 2 brightness levels, the maximum is 400 lumens, and is focusable. The spread beam is very even, no bright or dim spots, and the focused beam can be intense at maximum setting. It seems to have a good battery life, I've only charged it 5 or 6 times in the 4 years I've had it. It wasn't cheap though, just over $100 on sale, but it might be cheaper where you are, as with most imported things, we pay more here.

I don't use one for detailing work very often, but picked an inexpensive one up in the sporting goods section at Walmart a few years ago. The one I have has two seperate LED's which gives you two brightness choices. It also has a hinge at the bottom to allow you to angle it as needed while you're wearing it. Works pretty well for everything from detailing, to doing work around the house, to fishing at night.
