What do you folks charge for a headlight restoration? With opti-lens?

Depends on how bad, I am usually doing this as part of a detail, but I always quote based off and hourly rate and then you have to think about the cost of the Opti-Lens. I would say anywhere from 50-80 bucks, maybe more if the lights require sanding.

HUMP

If its a stand alone headlight restoration job i charge $30 - $50 per light. If its an add on to a detail i only charge for one light.

Ok I was thinking 45 a light and 30 per during a detail package. Thanks.

There is a guy on Facebook near my charging $10 a set! Yeah, needless to say, two other people have already contacted me after seeing his ad! I charge $50 a set.

I think you guys are too expensive!

I charge $20 and this includes two headlights with wetsand, and polish via flex. Seal with BFWD.

^ way too cheap! $30 for light oxy, $60 for a completely frosted lens.

I charge $40. You have to think about it. Most of the headlights that need restoration can be purchased in the $80-$120 range for a new pair of headlights. Just my .02.

Maybe cause i don't do it often? Most headlights that i've done were smaller in size..

It's always easier to quote $60, then if the lens isn't that bad or only takes you 10 minutes to fix, tell the customer is was an easier job than expected, and reduce your price. Vs. quote $20 and it takes you 40 minutes a side to fix them!!!

One method has a happy customer the other doesn't!!!

Lol, have you priced OEM lights? I did a Mazda 6 two weeks ago, OEM Lights were $550 EACH! Even the cheapies are $180-$200 a side.
Then someone needs to put them in.

New RAM quad lights go for about 750 each, $300 from a scrap yard!

I do 75 for the first lens, 35 ea additional and that includes wetsand/polish/opti lens. Less if it's just a polish and opti lens. Even IF the customer could obtain a set of used lights (without oxidation) at an extremely low price, the time/labor to replace them him-/herself would make my price reasonable. Some cars involve bumper/grill removal, chance of losing/breaking plastic clips/rivets in the process then aiming them properly, etc. Pay a mechanic do it and the price difference goes up.
