Heat gun on plastic trim ###?

I've done it on a car with crap faded plastic that was about to be traded in. I have seen a video of a guy doing it w/ a propane torch. Figured it was worth a shot. Did it work - I mean, yea it made it look darker for sure. A bit uneven though, so it ended up looking splotchy.

That was a few years ago. Would I do it now? No, but that is because I already know the results

Giving it a shot with a heat gun may not be a bad idea. I wonder how long it lasts. Or just get DLux haha

I've heard of people doing this. Clearly this video yielded results.

The reason plastic fades is because UV rays are breaking down the plastic overtime. The heat will help bring back some of the pigment in the plastic. I don't know the exact science of it, but I think this is the general idea.

I dunno the risks it poses, but I guess as long as you don't hold the heat over the plastic for too long, you should be fine to try it.

Lol right. End up melting it...that would not be good

Seen it done before and it always ends up uneven and spoltchy, all your doing is melting away the top oxidized layer.
