So, I've spent the better part of a week reading everything on the forum I can find and have decided to spend some money to get started in real detailing.
I have a black BMW 545i that is pretty much text book circular looking scratches all over it (paint is in decent shape, just needs some TLC). So, I've pretty well figured out I need a polisher first, and the 7424xp sounds like a good fit for that part of what I need.
But I need some help on what to buy after that. I've been looking at some of the kits with the polisher/pads, but any advice would be appreciated. These are a few I've been looking at:
Porter Cable 7424 Complete Starter Kit, Porter Cable 7424 buffer, Porter Cable power tools - $225
Porter Cable 7424 & Foam Pad Kit - Car Buffer - $199 (which pads?)
Porter Cable 7424 pad kit, porter cable accessories kit, porter cable polisher kit - $269 (really don't want to spend this much)
Something along those lines. I'm still not really sure which pads I need and how many I need, so need a little help there.
Also looking at this pack of polishes:
Menzerna Power Gloss, Power Finish & Super Finish Bundle, Menzerna Polishes Combo, Nano Polish, Power Finish Polish, Power Gloss Compound - $79
and
Menzerna Power Lock Polymer Paint Sealant, Menzerna auto sealant, car sealant, paint sealant protectant - $29
Not sure what I need after that though for final steps, if anything? Anyone want to help me spend some money?
I would like to order during the sale that is going on, I know some of the bundles aren't eligible, but I think the pack of polishes is at least.
Help!
Thanks
edit: Also, I need to get some wheel cleaner. Sonax? I have a meguiars clay bar kit already, so don't think I need anything there (correct me if I'm wrong please)
SONAX Wheel Cleaner, all wheel cleaner, chrome wheel cleaner, aluminum wheel cleaner, full effect wheel cleaner - $15.99
or
Sonax Daytona Jr. Wheel Combo (with brush), $24.99
edit2: I already ordered some borderless microfiber towels from Zaino as well since they were in stock and apparently pretty awesome
