Hello all!

I recently decided it was time to invest in proper car care and found this forum. I have been browsing and learning as much as I can in this last month and I look forward to learning much much more.

I have an idea of products I will need to get started now and a Griot's Garage 6" orbital polisher is at the top of the list followed by a compound and polish (considering Wolfgang duo, Blackfire duo, or some Menzerna fg400 and 4500).

Open to any and all suggestions, tips, and things to avoid when starting out.

Welcome to AG brother lot of knowledge around here.

:welcome:

I haven't tried the products you suggested, but they all seem to get the job done. Don't forget about Meguiar's 105 & 205 :xyxthumbs:

Welcome to AGO.

Nice product consideration. As for the Menzerna, I would pick up SF4000 instead of SF4500 for my polishing step. IMO, I don't feel SF4500 has enough pull to clear up the finish after FG400. But you can purchase all three Menzerna products.

:)

I would love to eventually get a good set of products but to start off the wife is already having some sticker shock at the price just to purchase what is necessary to begin with. I'm mainly looking for a solid compound and a solid polish to handle mine and the family's cars.

I'll take that advice to go with the 4000 instead of 4500. I have no experience with any of these products and that's the beauty of forums, many people with more experience and all their own opinions on why them prefer product A over product B.
