Hello from Central Illinois. I have recently purchased a used 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Last week I ordered the Porter Cable 7424xp Polisher Combo -- it should be delivered to my house today

I've had no luck removing light swirls by hand, so hopefully this will help my (and my wife's) car(s).

I love seeing everyone's before, 50/50, and after pictures in the Show 'n Shine. The pros make detailing an art form, that's for sure!

That's because the paints changed. Used to be the average person could work on their car's paint and remove defects and get a pretty good shine with simple products by hand. Not any more with the introduction of clear coat paint technology. I cover this in the first chapter of my how-to book.

Here's an article I did that shows the time breakdown between working by hand and working by machine and I've taught how to work by both hand and machine for years so have the techniques down pretty good.
