HELP: CG APC ruined interior trim

I cleaned the interior of my 85 Benz with my CG apc (1:20 ratio) and it did well on the carpets and seats. However, some of the apc landed on the blue vinyl interior trim too and within minutes, there was a white residue on the blue panels (glovebox, central console and bits here and there). I tried removing this with a damp mf towel. Even though it worked and the blue came back out, but minutes later again the residue appeared when it dried.

So what do i have to do to remove the residue. its killing the blue interior.

Judging from the color I believe is similar... I could be wrong!
Mind asking, what's the method of applying? I prefer to spray on microfiber or brush then agitate :)
I used:
CG allclean+ 1:15
Opc 1:3
Meg D101 1:8 ( undiluted for wheels)

For interior I quite settle down with Meguiars QID ;)
You may want to try a dressing like 303AP or anything on your hands to try bring the plastic back.

the interior trim was already clean. the overspray came from me cleaning the carpet. when i tried removing that overspray from the trim, it turned white.

iv tried cleaning the white residue with a damp cloth but it wont bulge. I could use some apc on a mf cloth and see if that will work but im worried it might damage the plastic vinyle even more.

and most of the items you mentioned aint available here. you can see the whitish spread over the blue vinyl with the handbrake.
 
My guess will be the over spray actually deep clean the trim and cause it looks white.
Try spray distilled water and see but I doubt it will do anything since you mention damp cloth used.
For me i will use an interior dressing
or even a coating to bring it back.
 
At 20:1 I am surprised it did that much discoloration. How long did it set on the vinyl? Geesh thats not good.
 
It could be cause the material is vintage and or senitive to certain chemicals, if dressing that area with with 3 to 4 layers of dressing on hand with 10 minute soak/dry time does not work you may have to dye the material as last resort but be sure to keep customer informed
 
:iagree: but I would also try an IPA or Eraser wipedown first.
 
i have meg's leather conditioner and autoglym trim gel.

should i test those on the effected area?

you may try an light IPA/Eraser wipe down as suggested and apply autoglym trim gel to test. :xyxthumbs:

may also consider meg m40 /303ap/ meg ult.protectant/ Perl, all works great for interior

getting my hands on any of those products would have taken me weeks. so its 3am here and i coudnt sleep.

tried the Autoglym trim gel on a small area... it worked :props:

so covered the whole vinyl interior. the dash is a little shiny but i can live with that. il wipe off the excess when i wake up but i assume the apc just dried the 30 year old vinyl. needed a little nourishment.

I tried the Autoglym Vinyl&Rubber care and the Megs Leather conditioner too. Both didnt work too well.
