Hopefully someone can help me. I have a 2010 Acura Tsx and there are compartments lined with a felt material. Unlike the rougher upholstery felt, this is finer and attracts a lot of dust and dirt. This felt lines the compartment under the head unit, a small compartment for coins (this one is very dirty), glove box, and the compartment by the driver's accelerator leg. This same material can be found in the TL and MDX.
I apologize if my descriptions suck, but all pictures I took are worthless/not detailed enough.

I have had luck using scotch tape to get the lint, etc. off of those areas. It's sticky enough to pull up the trash, but not sticky enough to destroy the material.

A vacuum with a brush or wide masking tape wrapped around your hand. The tape lint rollers also work well.

I've had good luck with a steamer and microfiber towel on getting felt area's clean (like in between the rear seats on a Infiniti G35 couple). Hit it with steam, gently scrub with a microfiber towel and it should remove most of the dirt / gunk built up.
If you don't have access to a steamer, you could try getting a microfiber damp with some hot water, wring it out really well (use gloves, you'll need very hot water) and then try scrubbing that way.
Hope this helps!

The tape around a finger is a good one, I'll have to try that. I actually have some double sided scotch tape I could put on something too, thanks!

I use lint roller tape. I cut to the desired size, then firmly lay it down on the affected area and pull it up. Comes out perfect every time

I like this!

Is there anything I can use for the coin holder in terms of chemicals? Even something heavily diluted such as 15:1 Megs APC? I've had some sticky coins in there.

What you've describe will work just fine

I removed the felt lined piece that is in the center console of my Yukon and ran it under water in the sink...aggitated with Dawn soap and rinsed very thoroughly. I thought I had success, but after they dried there was a white residue that appeared. It looks almost like a salt residue of some sort.

I also tried using my steamer with DI water...same result.

I've had this happen too. After it dries use one of the methods mentioned to remove the lint

What is left behind is not lint.

It looks like white residue is leaching out from behind the felt material.

Will take a picture this AM and post.

Sounds good

Try the lint roller/tape trick to while you're at it

I spray a little Folex on to a MF towel and lightly rub and then vacuum works great.

Here is what I am seeing after cleaning with steam and a sheet from a lint roller (shown in 1st picture).

I generally try compressed air. Tornador or blow gun usually work well.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using AG Online

The white color on the photos above is after cleaning with a steamer, microfiber & lint roller sheet.

Lint roller! But many times I don't have one on hand and I use a slightly damp microfiber. Use a low nap microfiber towel.

It looks like whatever was stuck to the felt has pulled the color out of it or effectively bleached it out. Either that or the fibers of the felt have been pulled away or worn down in that area exposing a different color. I've seen both scenarios in those felt lined compartments. I dislike that material being used in interior compartments. Not that much of a fan of the fuzzy fenderwell liners on various cars either.

I agree with both comments

Nothing was stuck to the felt it was basically clean with a little dust and lint.

Underlying plastic is black, so if the color was "pulled out" a black color would have been exposed

The felt was not "pulled away", it is still there. The underlying plastic is black.
