Help! how to Polished wheels

So I purchased some racestar wheels which look great but I was cleaning the car and got some water spots which I cant seem to remove. I tried pretty much everything to clear them out. I tried mothers polish, I also tried some polish at oriellys and nothing seems to work, any recommendations please...thank you.

I would try something carpro spotless whiles it's not abrasive its acid based another two choices would be meguiars water spot remover or meguiars ultimate compound and polish or something equivalent also you have to use machine power instead of elbow grease

What are the wheels made of?

Are they Clear Coated?

Is the Clear Coat intact and free of chips?

What applicator were you using with the two polishes you tried?

Did the previous polishing attempt make any improvement?

Either one would be fine, though do note that the cone may be better as the point of the tool can go in smaller areas, with that said you may have to get one of those polishing sponges like this CCS Euro Foam Hand Applicators Trio - Your Choice! you can also try a cotton applicator

Don't use an acid or alkaline on polished wheels. Use an abrasive or Flitz. Mothers makes some good polished wheel products that have provided great results to me for many years. Wolfgang has the concours metalwerks system for the ultimate shine in polished aluminum wheels. There are numerous commercial rouge products for polshing in stages as well. I'm not well versed in those type of products. You tube has videos if you are interested in that type of intensive work.

You can test for clear coated by rubbing a small section with the Mothers Metal polish. If it turns black they are not clear coated. If it turns black (I doubt they are uncoated) then metal polishing with wheels and compounds is the way to go. If it is clear coated then you are removing defects from paint and there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum on how to do that.
