I am doing a detail on a car and it has a very nice tan leather interior. However the seats, and heavy traffic area have a black coat of something on them. Like the steering wheel, door handles, etc. Im sure you guys know what i am talking about when i say black residue.

I have spent over five hours detailing the inside of this car. I used a magic eraser and it removed some of the black but isnt getting it all. Please tell me there is some secret product or technique i can use. ITS KILLING ME!!!!

Thanks

When you say heavy traffic areas are you talking about carpet or the seats? To me this sounds like just natural human wear and tear from dirty hands, sweat, grease and grime that was never tended to. I don't know if that much wear, tear and ground in grime will ever come back to normal.

Maybe try an enzyme based cleaner to see if it will help break up some of that grime. A leather interior is so porous and not a smooth surface that just trying to surface clean it IMHO won't get it out. You need something to get in there and loosen up the contaminants so they can be washed out.
