I just uninstalled a car seat from my 2016 WRX. It looks like the upper frame and buckle from the Top Tether strap made some really bad/deep indentations in my seats.

It looks like not only the leather is stretched, but the foam behind the leather is also indented. I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on how to fix these, or atleast make them less noticeable.

Here is a pic. Also, keep in mind that Subaru's Leather is very delicate, and probably one of the lowest quality leathers out there.

From my past experience in my F150 Lariat seats, I kept the leather conditioned very regularly and the indents from my kiddos seats slowly worked their way out over a few weeks.

Had this happen on the rear seating on my Xterra when we moved. Had them folded flat for moving. Also had some indents. They did work out after a few days.

check this out... did research on this one and got it for my brand new car... seats look like they are new still

I had the same issue... i conditioned the leather, and after a few weeks, it was almost all fixed. Wish i had before and after pics

Take the seats out for a couple of days they eventually expand back out. I take the seats out regularly to help with the crushing of the foam.

Shuld come out on its own with bit of sun and heat...

Thanks for the responses guys! I just took it out yesterday, so it looks like I haven't given it enough time yet. I'll wait for a few more days and see how it looks.

I have the prince lionheart seat protectors and I would highly recommend them.

^ Car Seats regularly not the actual seat. I do like a clean car but taking the actual vehicle seat out would be crazy lol

As others have said in time the indents will work themselves out. For a quicker solution use steam. A steaming hot towel works well also (just not dripping wet).

So I have given it 13 days, and it still looks about the same, maybe slightly better. Any tips on what I can try to make it look better? I do have a cheap McCulloch MC1275 steam cleaner, but I don't know how I wold use it to work the dents/wrinkles out. I also have a heat gun, but am weary of using that, and don't know how I could properly/safely use it to help.

Don't use heat just in there with some weight and message the foam around a bit if possible. I have a Malibu leather and a Terrain same type of indents hut they usually come back to life in a day or so.

Do you have a upholstery tool that you can wrap a mf towel to steam. This will disperse the steam and not damage the leather.
