Help me choose my first polisher

If you're new to using a polisher, a lot of folks here are going to suggest Griots Garage GG6 or a Porter Cable 7424xp. Both are good polishers to start out with and learn with. I started out with a PC myself a couple of years ago, and then I got a Flex XFE-7 long throw polisher.

I use both polishers today and I love them both. I only do my own vehicles and am not a professional detailer. So, take what I say with a grain of salt. Many forum members here are pro's, so take into account what they tell you. I'm sure you'll make the decision that's right for you.

Bingo! I started with the PC7424XP and moved up to the Flex 3401. Love them both and still use the PC. I have my PC applying the sealant/wax and it's a 3" BP. The Flex is my Brute!...You went a similar route. But a good way to get good at detailing. The GG6 from what I hear is more powerful than the PC and you can't go wrong with that one either.

Thank anyone for your help. I already order the polisher and looking for the right pads.
But... what color? Will the orange one remove the swirls from a soft paint?
I could get the 3-pack if i find it anywhere here (and is not expensive too).

Also I am reading that LK Hydrotech is for water-based polishes. Is Meguiar's Ultimate Compound water based? I can't find anywhere
