So i have some megs apc and wheel brightne coming in this week. Im a concerned on the mixing rations since i will be doing different ratios. My question is, do you mix on the actual spray bottle OR do you mix on a side gallon? For example, if the ratio is 7:1, do you mix one part of the product and then 7 parts water on the actual spray bottle or gallon? This is mainly what has me concerned. Should i mix on the actual bottle? Or aside and then pour it in the bottle? Are there bottles that have the mixing ratios on the side? Im lost here guys, i need some advice before i start mixing things and maybe over mixing or not mixing enough.

yes, there are bottles that have the ratios on the bottle. i don't know where others get theirs, but i know the volume detailer supply houses have them, and some of the online plastics resellers have them available - 32oz carafe spray bottles with dilution ratios.

for me, i simply take the total size of the bottle, and divide by the total number of parts you have. if it is 32oz and you need to reach 7:1, divide by 8. that will give you 4oz, 8 times, to make 32oz. so, pour 4oz of water (i use a glass measuring cup) and then top off with product, or if you want to be extra precise, measure out 28oz of product to top off.

if you are a volume person and it is a product you will use a lot, or you want to make life easier even if you are not a volume person, and you bought a gallon of it, make pre-mixes in empty screw top milk containers or left over detailing product concentrate containers. i don't know about using milk containers with wheel brightener, lol, but, for instance, with megs glass cleaner, i will make 5 or so gallons of pre-mix out of the gallon, and leave the rest of the concentrate for later since it wouldnt be practical to have 11 gallon containers of mixed glass cleaner around. but it does make life easier to have several available so when i run out of glass cleaner in my spray bottle i can just fill 'er up with one of the gallons.

I have a question, since most products are concentrated, isnt 7:1 like one part product(4oz for example) and then 7 part water(28oz for example?

heres a nice little chart i picked up at megs forum. Doesnt matter if you do it in gallons or in the bottle, the ratios will all be the same, less product for smaller bottle, more product for bigger ones.

Ok i was a little lost on the chart until i looked at 1:1. So heres my take and correct me if im wrong. For example it says 8oz at the top. So im guessing that means an 8oz bottle, so if its 1:1 you fill up 4oz of product and then 4oz of water to make 8oz? Or 32oz bottle and you want to dilute 7:1, you fill up 4oz of product and then 28oz of water? Or if the bottle has a mark where it says 32oz just pour in 4oz of product and then fill it up to the 32oz mark of water?

Your mathematic equations are correct :applause:
