Help..need to polish a boat

My brother in-law just bought a used boat, and asked if I could clean it alittle. This mainly involves polishing all of the metal railings, and removing the original decals. However, to make the color even, I would have to somewhat polish the finish. Could I use my car products to buff the boat. I have the OP line, 3M, Meg's polishes. Please help!

I dont know if you can use carpolish, but Meguiars have boatpolish too.

Any polish will do. Some will work better than others, likely a polish that has cleaners in it would be best. As for the metal, a dedicated metal polish would be best, Mother's Mag & Aluminum or Billet can be found OTC and will work great. As would Meguiar's NXT metal polish...
