Help Please: 3" and 3.5" Pad Questions

Hi,
I've been searching for some 3" pad options. So far I've only come up with a couple offerings from Griots Garage, orange & red (links below). Correct me if I'm wrong, is the orange used for swirls, imperfections and all-in-one cleaner/waxes? The description is a little vague. I also found the 3.5 Lake Country beveled edge pads (link below). As a newbie, I have an important question; What backing plate would I use for the 3.5" Lake Country pad? Your help would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray
