Help Please! These Oklahoma Door Jams Are Tough!

I am curious to see what methods and products you guys are using to get the rubber hoses and gaskets in door jams cleaned.

Here in Oklahoma for the most part I can get the door jambs pretty clean except for the rubber hoses and gaskets.

The red dirt seems to stain and not come clean.

Would a citrus cleaner work well for this?

On some of these door jambs I just get them as good as possible and then call it good once I see I am no longer making progress on the hoses and gaskets.

I have used the Tornador Black in the past to blast them as well.

These are pics of my jeep hoses and gaskets even though they are much cleaner than some of the door jambs that I've encountered.

I have in the past but I try to avoid it now, unless I absolutely have to.

From what I can remember some have came pretty clean, but others leave something to be desired.

This truck would be a great example. I recently detailed it and actually sprayed out the jambs with a hose and sprayer.

I still had to come back with a watereless wash and as mentioned before the hoses and gaskets left something to be desired.

I'm just worried about getting them clean.

Paint brush with some suds goes a long way on that corrugated tubing.

Fill a paper cup up with hot soapy water and then shove it up so the corrugated wire holder is "in" the water. Let it soak.

Those "boots" and seals are made from a rubber-like material known as an elastomeric thermoplastic polymer (Santoprene is one such material).

I would try a good, strong tire cleaner. Spray it on, let it dwell a little, then spray on some more and use a soft brush, esp. for the nooks and crannies. Alternately, a rubber cleaner like the Griot's Rubber Cleaner might work as well.

How's using Wolfgang Microfiber Cleaner and Rejuvenator for thinking outside the box!

I'll let the pictures do the talking but it seamed to work ok this time around.

I will also try some of the other products mentioned in this thread as well.

Thank you brother! I have the BLACKFIRE Super Degreaser Dilution Kit added to my cart, and I could also try diluting down some of the Meguiar's tire and wheel cleaner for this purpose.
