I just completed a fine polishing session on my new vehicle, a solid black, '16 Chevy Colorado. I noticed two separate spots on the hood that have since appeared sometime before this second detail. I know for a fact they were not present after my first, initial detail when I received the truck. I also know that they are not from bird bombs, but they share the same characteristics. I don't recall washing anything off the truck that would have caused these spots. (I had two previous bird bomb etchings on the roof that I successfully removed previously with elbow grease and WG Uber on a foam pad.) These suckers are not coming off! Maybe residual tree sap?
They cannot be felt with a fingernail and are completely smooth. WG Finishing Glaze did not touch them, nor did WG TSR. I briefly tried WG Uber Compound by hand using a white LC flat pad and this did not seem to get me anywhere. Any thoughts on what these spots may be?? Like I said, they are definitely NOT from bird droppings. They are easily visible outside and under fluorescent lighting. Any ideas on how to remove them? Do I need to get a little more aggressive in my approach? I want to avoid wet sanding as I have zero experience doing so.
Thanks!!
