I know there are many threads on cleaning foam pads, but I couldn't find one specific to my needs. Basically I'm a weekend warrior so I don't have the money for the Universal Pad Cleaner; however, thanks to a thread here I'm making one myself. I just want to know what to use in the system along with the water. I know there are pad cleaners, but if I can save money on that by using something cheaper I'd be ecstatic.
Thanks in advance.
Here's the link to that other thread: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/77389-diy-pad-washer.html

I've read where some use an all purpose cleaner type of product to clean pads.

I've used Zep citrus all purpose cleaner a couple times. Seemed to work just fine. However, I typically use "So Fast" pad cleaner from Chemical Guys.

A low-foaming APC should work fine. It's possible that some of them will attack the pad adhesive, so it's best to dry with the Velcro up, which to me always seems counterintuitive.
