Help with detailing a white color vehicle...

I need help in trying to detailing my 02 F350. It is white. How can you tell when the polish and wax are broken down? I tried to detail the truck over the past weekend and it looks good, but I can still see some swirls and scratches.

blkbrd: if you have access to some portable halogen lighting, that will be the best method. By placing the light at certain angles, you can see your work progress. White (and silver) are tough to see without tons of angled lighting.

The lighting in the pic below is what I'm referring to. Good Luck

Whites a hard color .... but not so much in polishing. Its getting the gloss to really stand out , and trying to make sure every spot of dirt is not seen. Sealants seem to be the best choice, Duragloss looks nice and sheens well.
 
Example of Liquid Souveran on top of Wolfgang DGPS on a white car. Please over look my messy garage I did clean it up some today.

Toto.......that is a detailers Heaven!!!

He's right about the lighting though. White is reflecting all of it so you need halogens to get the angle. Just time yourself too. Takes about five minutes to break a good polish down.

What products are you using?
 
I've used EX-P and Natty's Blue and love that combo on white, deep and wet. I'm gonna try the XMT Finishing Glaze topped with Natty's Blue and AW (topped NB before w/ it but not freshly done) and see how it comes out. I think my next combo will be DuraGloss 105 top with AW, another excellent combo on light colors.
 
Well I have a white Mustang. And seeing my PC is on it's way, this is gonna be my first attempt at polishing.

If you polish in the sun, at low temps, would this be efficient at seeing the work progress? I would imagine so.

I'm debating whether to try DG 105 topped with AW or try XMT Glaze topped w/ PB's natty's blue. I ordered all of it.
 
Thanks everyone. I was trying to do it outside. My garage at my house a single car and really too small for my truck. I have a storage garage that is 25 x 60. I guess I start using it to detail in my storage.

I am using DP for swirl remover and Klasse AIO and SG. I also have XMT 2 & 3.
